A Note From Father Eickhoff
June 2, 2024
This will be a sort of “odds ‘n’ ends” sort of bulletin article this week as I have several wildly different topics to cover.
The first topic is that I will be on retreat in the deepest wilds of Alabama this week; meeting many crazed, strange speaking southerners – many of whom I am related to – along the way; and eating vast quantities of BBQ. The daily Mass schedule this week will be as follows:
Monday Mass at 8am
Tuesday Mass at 7am
Wednesday Communion Service at 8am
Thursday Communion Service at 7am
Friday Communion Service at 8am (with Adoration to follow)
The weekend Mass schedule for June 8-9 will remain the same.
The second topic is that I want to give you an update on the 2024 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal. As you will recall the CMAA helps to fund the operational, educational (such as the training of priests for our diocese), and charitable works of the Diocese of Joliet. The current breakdown for the CMAA at St. Anne Parish is as follows:
2024 Goal Amount – 105,700
2024 Pledged Amount – 108,338
2024 Amount Paid – 82,953
2024 Balance Due – 25,385
As you can see the amount of money pledged to support the CMAA from St. Anne Parish is greater than the goal amount which is excellent. If you have pledged to support the CMAA I encourage you to fulfill your pledge so that we reach our goal amount. If you have not yet contributed to the CMAA there is still time to do so. You can go to the Diocese of Joliet website and contribute online. If you do so be sure to indicate that you belong to St. Anne Parish in Oswego so that our parish gets the credit.
Finally, in support of the ending of the Year of the Eucharist St. Anne Parish will hold a special 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, June 21st through Saturday, June 22nd. There will be a sign up board coming soon asking parishioners to commit to spending one hour with the Holy Eucharist during the 24 hour period.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
