A Note From Father Eickhoff

June 4, 2023

Now that June is here, I need to congratulate those students in our parish who have made their graduations from High School or College.  I also need to thank the teachers and staff at all the local schools, Catholic or Public, who strive to educate the youth of our community on the completion of another school year.  I don’t know how much of a break you will get this summer, but I hope you are able to rest just a little bit.

Things are currently fairly quiet here at St. Anne Parish which to my mind is a good thing.  As you will have probably noticed, I have been limping around the church the past few weeks.  During my backpacking vacation last month I tore the meniscus in my left knee.  Unfortunately, this type of injury rarely heals on its own so surgery will be needed.  My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7th. Fortunately, recovery from this type of surgery is fairly quick so I should be up and around within a couple of days.  However, there will be a few changes to the schedule:

Confessions on Wednesday, June 7th will be canceled. I  will probably still be under the influence of painkillers that evening which would lead to some very interesting penances if I were to try to hear confessions.

Mass on Wednesday, June 7th will still be scheduled.  If for some reason a priest is unavailable that day, one of the deacons from St. Anne Parish will lead a communion service.

The remaining Mass and liturgical schedule for the rest of the week will be held as normally scheduled.

Vacation Bible School will be held at St. Anne Parish the week of July 24-27.  More information will be coming out soon as to how-to sign-up children (or grandchildren) for VBS.  Also, for you adults and older teenagers we will be needing volunteer assistance to help run VBS.  More information on how to volunteer will be coming out in the near future.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
