A Note From Father Eickhoff

May 21, 2023

On Saturday, May 20, four men were ordained to the Holy Priesthood by Bishop Hicks for the Diocese of Joliet:

  • Rev. Jeremy Leganski
  • Rev. Alexander Lorang
  • Rev. Frank Pusateri
  • Rev. Jared Rutnicki

I want to take the time and space in the Bulletin to pass along not only my own congratulations, but also the congratulations of the people of St. Anne Parish to these new priests for our diocese.  We should also be praying for and supporting the men who are currently in formation to become priests as well as those men who are considering the priesthood as a vocation.

Earlier this month the Religious Education program here at St. Anne Parish wrapped up its last classes for the 2022-2023 school year.  I want to thank all of the volunteers who assist the RE program in passing our Christian faith to the upcoming generation.  So many parishioners help out as catechists, aides, office help, and monitors that it is impossible to name them all here on this page (unless we used really tiny print like the disclaimers on the bottom of an ad for prescription drugs).  Their assistance is greatly appreciated not only by the families of Religious Education students, but also by the entire parish.  We simply would not be able to provide the RE program for our children without their help.

Although, the RE program is done for the current school year the RE staff are not resting.  Planning is underway to host Vacation Bible School here at St. Anne Parish this summer.  VBS will be held the week of July 24-27.  Further details will be released soon.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who participated in the traditional May Crowning of the statue of the Blessed Mother Mary last Sunday.  Calling to mind the great honor that God has shown to Mary, the Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, through the crowning of her statue is especially proper in our parish which is dedicated to St. Anne the mother of Mary.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
