A Note From Father Eickhoff
May 25, 2025
Today’s bulletin article is a hodgepodge of various topics.
The Religious Education Program here at St. Anne Parish has finished the 2024-2025 year and I want to thank all the staff and volunteers who make the RE program possible. Their hard work and dedication to educating the youth of our parish in the fundamentals of the Catholic Faith is greatly appreciated.
Although the RE program is complete for this year, we will still hold Vacation Bible School this summer. In fact, the parish RE staff are right now planning events and activities for VBS. This summer VBS will be held the week of July 21-25. Please note that we will be needing adult and teen volunteers to help with VBS. So, if you are interested in assisting with VBS please contact the parish RE office for more information.
On behalf of the parish, I want to offer our congratulations to Fr. Vincent Omondi and Fr. Christian Sinclair who were ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Joliet on May 17th. I first met Fr. Christian Sinclair when I was assigned to his home parish of St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield as Associate Pastor and he was an altar server. A situation that makes me feel old.
I spoke with Fr. Marty Gabel (he has often assisted here at St. Anne with Sunday Masses) last week. As you may know he suffered a stroke earlier this year. Fortunately, he is recovering well and is currently back at his home. However, he is not yet able to return to ministry although he is hopeful that he will be able to in the future. He is grateful for your prayers and support.
Finally, I will be on vacation next week (the week of June 1st). All the weekend Masses will be held as normally scheduled on May 31-June 1 and June 7-8). The Masses on Monday, June 2nd and Wednesday June 4th will continue as normally scheduled. The normally scheduled masses on Tuesday, June 3rd and Friday, June 6th will be held as Communion Services. Eucharistic Adoration will be held as normal on Wednesday, June 4th and Friday, June 6th. There will not be confessions on Wednesday, June 4th.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
