A Note From Father Eickhoff

December 8, 2024

Let me start off with a few quick notes:

  • The final report for the 2024 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal is now available in the literature racks at the entrances to the church. You will note that thanks to your generosity St. Anne Parish has exceeded our goal amount of $105,700 by raising $117,261 for the appeal. Since our parish has exceeded the goal amount 70% of the money raised over the goal amount is returned to our parish. At the current count this means that St. Anne Parish has received $8,093 from the appeal. These figures may change slightly as the final contributions are counted this month.
  • A great many people wish to go to the Sacrament of Confession during the Season of Advent. These are the upcoming scheduled confession times:
    • Sunday, December 8th at 4pm – Parish confession service. Many priests will be here to help with confessions. Confessions will continue until all are heard.
    • Sunday, December 15th and Sunday, December 22nd during the 6pm to 7pm Sunday Vesper Prayer Service.
    • Regular Wednesday evening confessions between 7pm and 8pm.
    • Regular Saturday afternoon confessions between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
    • The last scheduled confessions will be Sunday, December 22nd. I strongly urge you not to wait for the last scheduled confession time before going to confession.
    • There will not be Wednesday confessions on December 25th or January 1st.
  • The Feast of the Immaculate Conception normally falls on December 8th. Since December 8th is a Sunday this year the feast is moved to Monday, December 9th. This year the feast is NOT a holy day of obligation. However, masses will be held in the church in honor of the feast day at 8am, 12pm, and 7pm.
  • The Christmas Concert will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 7pm. Tickets are $10 each with children 6 and under free. Tickets can be purchased through the parish website, or using the QR code found in the bulletin, or by visiting the parish office during regular office hours.
  • The Christmas Mass schedule is as follows:
    • Tuesday, December 24th (Christmas Eve)
      • 4pm, 6pm, and 10pm
    • Wednesday, December 25th (Christmas Day)
      • 8am, 10am

I guess my quick notes took up the entirety of my bulletin article. Oh well…now I’ll have to build what I was going to write about into my homily.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
