A Note From Father Eickhoff

December 17, 2023

Before we arrive in the Christmas season I want to go over some various odds and ends concerning St. Anne Parish.

First, I want to thank you for your prayers and support of Fr. Dan Stempora who is recovering from a stroke.  I have been told that he is grateful for your prayers and the cards that you are sending to him. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation from the aftereffects of the stroke and is making good progress in his recovery.

Second, I want to draw your attention to the 2023 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal which is drawing to a close.  You, the parishioners of St. Anne Parish, have been very generous this year in supporting the CMAA.  Our goal amount was $109,300. The total amount raised so far this year is $129,998. Not only does this exceed our goal amount, but it also goes past the amount raised last year.  Even better, more parishioners contributed this year to the CMAA than last year.  If you are still fulfilling your pledge amount please continue to do so.  It would be great to break the $130,000 dollar mark by a good amount.

Third, I want to point out that this Wednesday, December 20th at 7pm will be the last date for confessions prior to Christmas.  There will not be confessions on Saturday, December 23rd.

Fourth, there will not be Eucharistic Adoration or confessions on Wednesday, December 27th. Regularly scheduled confessions will resume on Saturday, December 30th at 3.30pm.

Fifth, the parish offices will be closed the week of Christmas (December 25-29).  The parish offices will reopen on January 2nd.

Sixth, If you haven’t picked up a Christmas Card with Mass schedule for December 23-25 please do so. There are a lot of changes to the usual weekend Mass schedule next weekend.  The cards are located next the bulletins at the entrances to the church.

Seventh, the Mass schedule for December 30-31 is the normal weekend Mass schedule.

Eighth, the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God on Monday, January 1st, is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year. There will be a Mass in celebration of the feast day on Monday, January 1st at 10am.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
