A Note from Father Eickhoff

July 17, 2022

I want to share with you some changes to the liturgical schedule that will be implemented beginning on August 1.

The change is in regards to the Daily Mass schedule:

There will now be a Mass on Friday morning at 8am in place of the previously scheduled communion service.

There are no changes to the weekend Mass schedule.

I wish to thank the deacons for their willingness to lead the Communion Services on Fridays.  As a pastor, it is a great comfort to have deacons who are able to step up and lead a Communion Service when needed.

The next two changes are in regards to Eucharistic Adoration:

Adoration of the Blessed Eucharist will take place for 30 minutes following every Friday morning Mass (8.30am to 9am) in the main church.

Adoration of the Blessed Eucharist will take place for one hour every Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8pm in the chapel.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration and benediction will be held during both times of Adoration.

The bishops of the United States have announced a three year revival program to conclude with a national Eucharistic Congress in July of 2024. The Eucharistic Congress used to be a regular event in this country, but it has not been held in almost 50 years. The purpose of the revival program is to increase faith and devotion in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Every parish in the United States is being encouraged to extend their hours of Eucharistic Adoration so that the faithful may better participate in the revival.

The last two changes are in regards to the Sacrament of Confession:

Confessions will now be heard every Saturday afternoon from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Confessions will be heard every Wednesday evening during Eucharistic Adoration from 7pm to 8pm.

All confessions will be heard in the normal reconciliation rooms.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
