A Note From Fr. Eickhoff

September 25, 2022

October will soon be here, and the Season of Fall will begin.  The days sure seem to go by quickly here in Oswego.  There is a lot going on at St. Anne this coming month of October.  Here are some of the big events:

The feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi is coming up on Tuesday, October 4.  Not wanting to wait until Tuesday we will have a special blessing of animals on Saturday, October 1 at 10:00am.  Come with your dog, your cat, your bird (not counting woodpeckers), your lizard, your snake, and any other creature and meet by the bell tower for the blessing.

I hope you will be able to join us for the Pig Roast on Sunday, October 9.  The Pig Roast will be held in the parish hall between the hours of 12:00pm and 3:00pm.  You will note that this is the same time as the Bears game against the Vikings.  Have no fear about missing the game!  We will have the game showing on the walls of the parish hall so that you will not miss a single dropped pass, missed field goal, fumbled handoff, or whatever means the Bears will devise to lose the game.  Tickets are $2 dollars each and will be available for purchase after all the masses this weekend.

There will be a special Mass that will include the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick on Saturday, October 15 at 11:00am in the church. If you have a serious illness or condition, are recovering from treatment, or getting ready for a surgery you are welcome to join us.  After the Mass and the reception of the Sacrament of the Sick there will be a special bag lunch in the parish hall.

In addition to these special events there are the ongoing events at church that you might wish to attend during the month of October.  For example, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place every Wednesday evening between 7:00pm and 8:00pm in the chapel; and every Friday morning between 8.30am and 9:00am in the church.

Also, make sure to keep aware of new events that will be announced very soon.  We have some exciting ideas for youth activities that are coming up for example that will be announced in the next couple of weeks.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
