A Note From Father Eickhoff

February 9, 2025

Good morning (or afternoon as the case may be) to all of you! Today I want to quickly go over some upcoming events here at St. Anne Parish.

First off, it is now less than one month before the beginning of the Season of Lent. Ash Wednesday will be on Wednesday (yes, I know that seems redundant) March 5th. The Mass times will be as follows:

7am, 12pm, 5.30pm, and 7.30pm

Ashes will be distributed during the Masses. There is a reason why receiving both ashes and Holy Communion is so important and not just ashes only. We place ashes on our heads as a tangible reminder of our sorrow for our sins and the wounds upon our souls that our sins create within us. There is nothing that we can do solely by ourselves to heal such wounds or take away such sorrow. However, the body and blood of our Lord is such a remedy for sorrow and those wounds. To bear the sign of our sins and not take Holy Communion is like a sick person wearing a sign around his neck proclaiming his illness but refusing medical treatment from his doctor.

Second, I will be on vacation later this month from Thursday, February 20th to Saturday, March 1st. Hopefully (assuming my flights are not delayed or canceled), I will be back on Sunday, March 2nd. All the weekend Masses when I am gone will be held as normal. There will be changes to the weekday Mass and confession schedule.

Friday February 21st – Communion Service at 8am, followed by Adoration

Monday February 24th – Mass at 8am

Tuesday February 25th – Mass at 7am

Wednesday February 26th – Communion Service at 8am, Adoration at 7pm, No Confessions

Thursday February 27th – Communion Service at 7am

Friday February 28th – Communion Service at 8am, followed by Adoration

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
