A Note From Father Eickhoff

September 22, 2024

Every year when the Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal begins, I tell parishioners that as soon as
the parish reaches its goal amount I will stop talking and/or writing about the CMAA.

Good news! That day has arrived.

By a gigantic THREE Dollars this week St. Anne Parish has exceeded our goal amount of
$105,700 for the 2024 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal.

I want to thank everyone in the parish who contributed to the annual appeal this year. The
money that was raised does go to many worthy purposes. Some of the money goes to support
various charities that are supported by the Diocese of Joliet. Some of the money goes to
support various specialized ministries that are sponsored by the Diocese of Joliet. And some of
the money goes to fund the education of future priests of the Diocese of Joliet.

Many of you who have pledged to support the 2024 CMAA this year may still have a
difference between the amount of money that you pledged compared to what you have
allowed donated. I encourage you to finish your pledge for the year. You should know that 70
percent of the money that is raised by parishioners over the goal amount is returned to St.
Anne Parish. So, by finishing your pledge amount you not only fulfill your pledge you are also
contributing to your own parish.

On a different topic (now that I will not talk about the CMAA again this year).

You will notice that after all the Masses this weekend there are volunteers from the liturgical
ministries such as ushers, eucharistic ministers, lectors, and altar servers in the narthex. They are
there to answer any questions you might have if you have given thought about joining one of
these important ministries. We really could use new volunteers in these ministries and
participating in these ministries is a great way to aid your parish and the people in the parish.
Participating in one of these ministries is also a wonderful way to deepen your spiritual life. It is
always advantageous to put the gifts of God into active use whenever possible; whether that
may be in proclaiming the Word of God at Mass or helping to distribute Holy Communion or
aiding parishioners before and during Mass.

As a further reminder. Ticket sales for the annual parish pig roast will be held the weekend of
October 5-6 after all the Masses. Tickets will be $5 each. Cash or Check. The pig roast itself will
be held on Sunday, October 27th between 12pm and 3pm.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Stephen Eickhoff
Pastor
